blowing my way

went out relatively late for me because i was humming and ha-ing about going at all because it has been blowing a gale for the past two days. in the end i couldnt justify not going so i went.

because of the wind it has been cool so i rugged up and put my head down and rode. As it turned out the wind, although strong, was blowing from a "strange" direction today (east/ne) and for at least half of my ride it was behind me or at least not directly into me. it feels like you are cheating when this happens as you go 5-10km faster easily.

I managed to ride 32km (at 25km/h) and i did this more comfortably even with the wind around. In 4 rides my average hr has dropped 5 bpm which is good. it now means i have a bit more upside where i can ride harder without blowing myself up. I have now done 3252km this year

Photos of the flags near the base of kings park. First is from the narrows bridge and second is from the path along the river. I rode up into kings part again today and my time was slower by 15secs, but i am putting that down to the wind.
